In October 2015, the Stevens Initiative was launched in memory of Ambassador Stevens, with the aim to “…connect youth in the United States, Middle East, and North Africa to build 21st century skills and cross-cultural understanding.”

Since May 2016, TAYP has partnered with Soliya, a leader in the virtual exchange and cross-cultural education practice, to support the implementation of its flagship ‘Connect’ program in Tunisia. An inaugural awardee of a Stevens Initiative grant in April 2016, Soliya kick-started TAYP’s efforts to bring this great exchange opportunity to Tunisian undergraduate students.

The focus of the “Connect program” is to empower universities from the interior regions with the same opportunities and benefits afforded by those in the coastal regions. In addition to the Connect program, Tunisian doctoral students will benefit from Soliya’s UN-certified Facilitation Training Program.
